Supportive Counseling for Your Teen
Sentio Counseling Washington will open for clients in early 2024.
SCW counselors are trained to provide support for teens in ways that fit the everchanging trends of modern society across all developmental stages. Our early years can be tough, and the transition from childhood to young adulthood can be even more complicated. Parents often feel like they have tried everything possible and don’t know where to turn next to help their loved one. We can help by giving a virtual space for your child to learn new coping strategies, reduce self-destructive behaviors, choose healthier ways of thinking, and live a happier life. Counseling for teens is often focused on:
Increasing self-confidence
Exploration of identity
Thriving at school
Developing healthy friendships
Coping with emotions
Increasing self-awareness
While parents and/or caregivers may be involved in ways determined through a collaborative process with your counselor, we want to make sure that your child feels like they are being supported and respected at all times. It can be hard to get a young person (or anyone, for that matter) to do something they don’t want to do. Our counselors are trained to prioritize the building of a supportive therapeutic relationship to ensure that all teens feel understood at a time when it might feel like nobody on the planet actually gets them. This might look like providing a lot of emotional support and being there to help process and cope with difficult feelings, or counseling can take on a more structured and focused approach to teach new skills to overcome challenges in life.
